With an overall record of 53-54, including 9-6 last week, TSN football analyst Chris Schultz is back with his Week 8 selections in the NFL in Risky Business. San Diego at Denver (-7.5) Divisional game in the AFC West and on a short week both teams have challenges. For the Chargers it is to get back to ball control football and Philip Rivers efficiency. Against Kansas City they had only 21 minutes time of possession and were 3-for-10 on third down. With Denver the challenge is to come down from the high that they have after beating the 49ers 42-17. The running games on both sides will be key. For San Diego its just not the same due to injury at the running back position. For Denver Ronnie Hillman has been a nice surprise. Ill take Denver at home on a short week. Broncos. Detroit (-4) vs. Atlanta (at London) What was in recent years a suspect defence in Detroit is now the teams strength. And with the Atlanta offensive line made up of reserves it could be a good pass rushing day for Detroit. If Calvin Johnson is healthy - and he should be - Atlanta will have problems on defence too. Already Matthew Stafford has tied Bobby Lane for all-time touchdown passes in Detroit with 118, and has a chance to be the greatest Lion quarterback ever. This one will be over by 12:30 pm eastern as it is in London, England with a 9:30am start. Lions cover four, Lions. Buffalo (-3) at New York Jets Hard not to get excited for the Jets with Percy Harvin. As a player he can take a simple pass play and make it a major gain and as a kick returner, hes spectacular. The Bills go into this one without both running backs, CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson. Major advantage for jets. Jets, Jets, Jets! Chicago at New England (-6) Brandon Marshall was correct when he talked about all the talent on the Bears and how they only came up with 14 points last week against Miami. The Patriots coming off the Thursday night game needed the time to figure out how to adjust without Stevan Ridley and Jerod Mayo. The Jets ran for over 200 yards and if they give him an opportunity Matt Forte has the talent to duplicate that. This game will be the season for Chicago as a fifth loss going into the bye week and Green Bay could end their playoff hopes. Bears. Seattle (-4.5) at Carolina Both teams coming of losses as Panthers were dominated by the Packers, 38-17, and the Seahawks were embarrassed by St. Louis 28-26. Seattle is due. Two losses in a row is very unusual as it had been 51 games before back-to-back losses. Defensive team speed chasing Cam Newton all game long could make the difference. Seahawks bounce back and cover. Miami (-5.5) at Jacksonville The Dolphins are on a bit of a roll with dominant wins over Chicago and a competitive last play loss to Green Bay. Could be a good pass-rush day for Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon as defensive ends and Lamar Miller took over nicely in place of Knowshon Moreno. The pressure is off as Jacksonville finally won its first game. The pressure is on in Miami to go from 3-3 to 4-3. I think they get it done. Miami by 7 to cover 5.5. Dolphins. Baltimore at Cincinnati (-1.5) The Bengals were completely dominated by the Colts last Sunday in Indianapolis. The Colts had 27 first downs and the Bengals had eight. In Week 1, Cincinnati did beat Baltimore on the road 23-16 but that was when AJ Green was healthy. A toe injury is always an unknown recovery time and if he had broken a bone it would have been better as it is easier to heal. How healthy is he? I just dont like the way the Bengals were totally and completely dominated by the Colts. And the Ravens defence is evolving into one of the best. Marvin Lewis has a challenge after the Patriots and Indy dominant losses over the past couple of weeks. Ravens. Houston (-1) at Tennessee I like Monday Night Football, I really do. But after the implosion by the Texans within three minutes of the second quarter, and the points explosion by Pittsburgh, I had seen enough. My television went off and I ended my Monday. Ryan Mallett is the future for the Texans. As a quarterback he has a cannon arm and confidence to match. But Ryan Fitzpatrick is the present and I think he is good. If they run Arian Foster and stay smart they win. Texans. St. Louis at Kansas City (-6.5) The Chiefs are a good 3-3 team and improving. The Rams are an up-and-down 2-4 team that does what it has to do to win. Jeff Fisher is an excellent head coach. Pass protection is always critical as Robert Quinn as a defensive end can change a game in one moment. But so can Tamba Hali and Justin Houston for the Chiefs! Chiefs! Philadelphia at Arizona (-2.5) One thing you know about Cardinal football; on any given down they will throw the ball deep and accurate. And Malcolm Floyd has a better yards-per-catch average than Larry Fitzgerald at 18.6 per catch. One thing you know about Eagle football; coming off the bye week the pace of play after play will be at an all-time high. With six games of experience fast, fast and fast is the pace. But did you know that since Carson Palmer has returned as quarterback over the course of 120 minutes of play Arizona has only trailed in points for 7 minutes and 49 seconds? Cardinals. Minnesota at Tampa Bay (-3) Interesting game as both coaches are very good. Lovie Smith is coming off the bye has a lot of talent to work with. He is figuring out who in his present personnel has the determination and work ethic to improve. Mike Zimmer has no fear. This is his team and will do things his way and given time he will produce. Two good head coaches. Bucs. Oakland at Cleveland (-7) Hmmmmm. Not sure about this. The Raiders have yet to win a game; pressure is intense and immense. Logic says take the Browns. I like logic. Browns. Indianapolis (-3) at Pittsburgh I hate numbers as they relate to football but the Colts’ dominance over the Bengals last Sunday was staggering. I know Le’Veon Bell left, right, and everywhere. And Antonio Brown here, there and everywhere. The Colts run defence is 50 yards better than last year and how about Tent Richardson, does he not look like a first round pick? Indy does two things in football extremely well: time of possession and big plays. Andrew Luck is not a check down quarterback. He’s second only to Rogers. Colts. Green Bay at New Orleans (-1.5) There is a lot of debate out there about who the best quarterback is. I dont know. But the best arm in football belongs to Aaron Rodgers. Packers. Washington at Dallas (-9) Good luck Colt McCoy. The surprise from Dallas had zero to do with offensive talent. The rotation of eight possible defensive lineman is in the extreme. And Gavin Escobar, where did this come from? Yes, I am jumping on the Dallas Cowboys train of success. Why not, it feels good! Dallas Diamondbacks Alex Avila Jersey . The star receiver certainly isnt celebrating it with the Texans mired in a franchise-record 13-game skid. He told The Associated Press this week that dealing with another terrible season after already suffering through the lean times early in franchise history has taken the joy out of playing the game he loves. "You dont expect to go back through it," said. "You think youre past that stage as a team ... it is no fun at all." Despite his frustration with this year, Johnson has remained Houstons most reliable leader. "Its amazing. Andre is just the consummate pro. Hes always positive," interim coach Wade Phillips said. "Hes always making plays. Its tremendous the number of plays hes made ... that just says so much about him. And if you know him as a person, hes even better." This has been the most painful season for Johnson because the Texans were coming off consecutive playoff appearances and were expected to contend for a Super Bowl. Instead, they need a win at Tennessee on Sunday to avoid matching their franchise-worst record of 2-14 from 2005. If the Texans lose on Sunday, they will be guaranteed the top overall pick in Aprils draft. Johnson is the only player remaining on the team from the 2005 season. He has been with the Texans since their second season after being drafted third overall in the 2003 draft. He went through four losing seasons with David Carr at quarterback before the Texans picked up Matt Schaub and the franchise began to turn around. The Texans won back-to-back AFC South titles and looked to take the next step this season. But Schaub had the worst stretch of his career and was benched after six games in favour of Case Keenum. But the losing continued with the undrafted, record-setting University of Houston quarterback running the offence. Now it looks like Johnson is likelly to be catching passes from another quarterback next season.dddddddddddd Johnson isnt spending time worrying about Houstons quarterback situation, especially because the Texans dont know who their coach will be in 2014 after Gary Kubiaks recent firing. "You just have to wait and see what happens," he said. "You dont necessarily know if its going to be a rookie quarterback or a veteran guy. We dont even have a coach yet." Johnson is second in the NFL with 103 receptions in 2013 and his 1,358 yards receiving are fifth in the league. He tied an NFL record for most seasons with at least 100 receptions on Sunday, reaching the mark for the fifth time in his career. This Sunday he has a shot at setting another NFL mark. Johnson needs 142 yards to become the first player in NFL history to have at least 100 receptions and 1,500 yards receiving in four seasons. This is Johnsons seventh season with at least 1,000 yards receiving and he surpassed 12,000 yards for his career earlier this year. "I think the ultimate goal is to win and win the championship," Johnson said. "So I think the records and stuff like that is something youll look at once your career is over to see what youve accomplished since youve been in the league." Johnson will turn 33 this summer, raising the question how much longer hell be able to play at this level, and if time is running out for him to reach his goal of winning the Super Bowl. But this tough season hasnt dampened his optimism that Houston will turn things around next year. "You can make moves and put yourself into contention," he said. "There are going to be some decisions made this off-season with the new coach and everything like that. Hopefully, as an organization, well make some moves to put us in contention where we can go out and compete to hopefully win that Super Bowl." ___ AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org Chiefs Jerseys China Cheap Nike Chargers Jerseys Cheap Nike Raiders Jerseys Wholesale Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Nike Giants Jerseys Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Redskins Jerseys China Cheap Nike Lions Jerseys Packers Jerseys China Cheap Vikings Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Panthers Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Saints Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Buccaneers Jerseys Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Rams Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Nike 49ers Jerseys Seahawks Jerseys China Bears Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bills Jerseys Ravens Jerseys China Wholesale Falcons Jerseys China ' ' '
