Just my opinion. Shady shady ringers. BooooIt does make a mockery of the idea of club events if you can fly in students fresh from rowing 1st varsity in USA. Club rowing in the U.K. Is already dying a death and this behaviour will only make it worse trying to maintain club towers in the sport. Why do they not have a rule included excluding those rowers who have rowed in US varsity 1st 8s? Although saying that the varsity 2nd 8s at the IRAs last week was stacked with very good British rowers also so that might not completely put an end to the problem.
Also who names a boat club after themself!?WHO ARE IN THE RINGER CREWS? WE HAVE THE BRIT IMPOSTERS WHO ARE THE ELIZABETHAN FOOLS?Â
You are a fool. The LRC boys are actually from LRC. 3 out of 4 have been members of the club for more than 2 years. I'm at Imperial and know the lads. All good lads connected to the UK in different ways.Â

I am a rower at UTRC and I speak for all my fellow club rowers when I say that we are actually totally chill about Students in club events. In fact it seems ridiculous that we should even get worked up about a bunch of teenagers, putting together scratch boats 2 weeks before the event. Henley is venue for a for the highest standard of sporting competition and achievement and we should all be striving to drive the standard of the sport and the event upward, striving for a higher level of human capacity.
Lol. Of course you don't have an issue with it. UTRC have continuously benefited from bringing in Leander drop outs at the last minute who have been 'signed up' as members for free as early as February but don't step foot in the boat house until June. For all intents and purposes this is the same thing, except they have even more spare time as they're not studying!
Ah dude, you didn't take that at face value did you? I'm from Thames, by the way, and I speak on behalf of the entire club when I say that we don't want students in the Thames cup cos Elizabethan are the only ones who might give us a race.

This is pathetic, we need to be the bigger people in this.
Let's face it Thames is the best RC around and therefore should be the most pissed at this. But we are not.Â
We have built this club up from nothing as was said. But we are not sad. Nor are we dismayed.Â
