CALGARY - Jon Cornish has heard the Edmonton Eskimos want to limit his yards in Sundays CFL West Division final. It echoes what the Calgary Stampeders star has heard throughout the three seasons hes been the dominant running back in the league. When you play this sport at the level I do, every week theres going to be people gunning for me. Thats how it is, Cornish said. That is the reality of my life. People are going to be out gunning for me. Because Im a main piece of this offence, shutting me down is going to be of critical importance to teams that want to beat us. I learned that a long time ago, so I dont think anything different.Calgary (15-3) and Edmonton (12-6) meet at McMahon Stadium in the first all-Alberta division final since 2001.The winner advances to the Grey Cup in Vancouver on Nov. 30. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes (9-9) square off Sunday in the East Division final.Calgarys last trip to a Grey Cup was in 2012 and their last win came in 2008. Edmontons last appearance and victory in the CFLs championship game was in 2005.Edmontons defence ranks second in the CFL in defending the rush, but corralling the three-time CFL rushing leader and winner of the Most Outstanding Player award in 2013 is no easy task.Cornish appeared in just half of Calgarys regular-season games, yet won the leagues rushing title a third straight year with 1,082 yards. Cornish posted over 100 yards in six of his nine games, including two he played against Edmonton. The 30-year-old from New Westminster, B.C., ran for a combined 272 yards, two touchdowns and a dozen first downs in the Labour Day series versus the Esks on Sept. 1 and Sept. 6. Calgary won those games by scores of 28-13 and 41-34. We want to stop him because their offence does evolve around him most of the time, Eskimos defensive end Willie Jefferson said in Edmonton this week. We have to slow him down, make them try to find another way to win the game without him.”Cornish also won the CFLs Outstanding Canadian honour in 2012 and 2013 and is a finalist for it a third straight year. His performance so far in 2014 begs the question, what numbers could Cornish have reached in the regular season if hed been healthier? He didnt participate in a 26-22 victory over the Esks on July 21. He was knocked out in the season-opener against Montreal and sidelined the next six games. After sitting out another pair of games for more precautionary reasons later in the season, Cornish bounced his head off the McMahon Stadium turf Nov. 1. The halfback didnt play in Calgarys regular-season finale as he was put through concussion protocol. Cornish has been back to full practice this week.Eskimos head coach Chris Jones was Torontos defensive co-ordinator when the Argonauts defeated the Stampeders 35-22 in the 2012 Grey Cup. Cornish rushed for 57 yards in the game. The Stampeders went 14-4 last season only to lose 35-13 at home in the West final to eventual Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan. Calgary committed seven turnovers and Cornish mustered 60 yards in the game played in icy temperatures.Sundays forecast is for mostly sunny skies and a high of minus-2, but some snow is expected Saturday. The Calgary and Edmonton offences rank first and second respectively moving the football on the ground, so the run game will be key for both sides. If you look at the last few games that weve lost in the playoffs, we havent been able to set up a good run game, Cornish said.In the last Western final, turnovers just put us down. In the Grey Cup, we were outschemed. (Chris Jones) has a very smart defensive mindset, but its our job to establish our game. Theyre going to do their thing like theyve been saying. Were going to do our thing.Defensive end Charleston Hughes, winner of the CFLs defensive player award in 2013, has been testing his foot in practice this week. Hughes hasnt played since injuring it Sept. 13 during a game against Toronto. One of the obstacles right now is just mentally getting back into the game, Hughes said. Ive been out for two months.I think I can have a big impact in the game as soon as I step on the field. Its one of those things where my presence on the field changes the way a team has to deal with us. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare Jersey . Reyes, 26, was traded from Atlanta to Toronto in July 2010 and spent the remainder of the season in the minors. He began 2011 in the majors and made 20 starts with the Blue Jays, going 5-8 with a 5.40 earned run average before he was waived on Aug. Deryk Engelland Jersey .J. -- The Houston Astros had the No. http://www.officialgoldenknightsfanstore.com/jon-merrill-golden-knights-jersey-c-9/. -- LeBron James warned the Orlando Magic to stop double-teaming him and ignoring James Jones. Malcolm Subban Jersey . Alen, 28, hit .315 with five home runs, 59 RBI and a career-high nine stolen bases for the Goldeyes last season. He is the longest serving catcher in Goldeyes history, having already spent five seasons with the organization. Griffin Reinhart Jersey . The result means Atletico Madrid now tops the table, with Madrid level on points in second and Barcelona a point behind in third with nine games remaining as the title race shapes up to be the closest in years.LeBron James inspired Cleveland Cavaliers to a season-saving 112-97 win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors to climb within 3-2 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals. Cleveland, facing elimination at the hands of the top-seeded Warriors, got 41 points each from James and Kyrie Irving and displayed a tenacious defense to set up another do-or-die game for the Cavaliers on Thursday in Cleveland. We are just happy we got another day, thats all we can ask for. We got another day to survive, James, who also had 16 rebounds and seven assists, said after the game. We understand this is a great team no matter who is out on the floor for those guys. They are the champions so weve got to be ready. With their season on the line, the Cavaliers exploded with their best game yet of the NBA Finals as James and Kyrie Irving proved too much for a Warriors team playing without suspended defensive stalwart Draymond Green. The Cavaliers duo became the first teammates to score at least 40 points in an NBA Finals game. They had two great games, two breakout games. We need those two guys to give us confidence early, and they both did that, Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said about James and Irving. But Im just very excited and proud of the way we scrapped and continued to play hard. Thats how weve got to play. Thats us. Klay Thompson (11) had a team-high 37 points for the Warriors The game got off to a wild start and producced the best 24 minutes yet of the Finals as the Warriors and Cavaliers each displayed some incredible shot-making that left the teams tied 61-61 at halftime.ddddddddddddIt marked the highest-scoring first half in an NBA Finals game since the 1987 championship between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. But after a tight first half it was Cleveland who finally pulled ahead by 10 points late in the third quarter as Irving carried over the shooting clinic he put on during the first 24 minutes to keep the home crowd in check. With a chance to clinch the title on their home court, where they had lost just three times all season, the Warriors were unable to find a way back into the game as the Cavs stymied any bit of momentum Golden State tried to generate.Klay Thompson had a team-high 37 points for the Warriors on 11-of-20 shooting, including six three-pointers, but it was far from enough on this night. We had a good offensive first half, made some shots, had 61 points, and then kind of got bogged down in the second, said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. We tried a lot of different things, and nothing seemed to work. It was one of those nights.Green will be back in the Warriors lineup for Thursdays pivotal Game Six after serving a one-game ban after being assessed his fourth flagrant foul from his scuffle with James in the previous contest. The Cavaliers are trying to become the first team to win a championship after falling behind 3-1 in the NBA Finals.  Also See: Golden State close in on title Westbrook pulls out of US team cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
