The Bears won their biggest game in years Sunday night and it was everything that fans have been hoping and wishing for.Chicago beat the team that most widely considered the best team in the league. The team that was 11-1 and went toe-to-toe with the NFL’s other best in the Chiefs and the Saints. There have been many doubters of the Bears and https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Mike-Singletary-Jersey , even with the offensive shortcomings during the game, they shut up a lot of doubters Sunday night. Are the Bears now the best team in the league? No, but they proved that they belong among the best and that when their defense is at their best, they can hang with anybody. However, as we’ve seen in each of their losses, they have flaws and make big mistakes. They played their best defensive game Sunday and proved a lot, to even their own fans.Be honest, how many people looked at this match up as a definite win? How many even thought it would be a win on their initial scan of the schedule back in April? I can’t imagine many.Stock upJames Daniels, OG - How can you not mention the rookie left guard, who handled (with plenty of help from teammates Cody Whitehair and Charles Leno), Aaron Donald, and held the All-Pro DT to his worst statistical game since Week 9 at New Orleans. For a rookie Dick Butkus Color Rush Jersey , who has struggled, as recently as last week, and didn’t even earn the starting job until nearly halfway through the season, this was a remarkable performance. Roquan Smith, LB - While we’re talking about rookies, we should acknowledge the Bears’ first-round pick. Smith had his first career interception and nearly had a couple of others. He finished with six tackles, 1 PD and that INT. Eddie Goldman, NT - When Sean McVay went Bears-Twitter viral for naming “all 11 Bears starters” (that’s how it was billed), there was one name suspiciously missing. Eddie Goldman. The newly extended man made himself known to the Rams coach, and the NFL world at large, by registering a sack of Jared Goff for a safety. Goldman, by the nature of his position William Perry Jersey , doesn’t get talked about like teammates Akiem Hicks or Khalil Mack but he’s just as integral to the defense. He had that sack, a TFL and a QB hit.Stock downMitchell Trubisky, QB - I don’t know if it was his worst game as a Bear, but it was right up there. He was sailing passes all over the place and making questionable decisions. Was it the weather? Was it rust from missing two games? Who knows. We’ve seen him bounce back from bad games, so I’m not panicking, but he’s earned this distinction this week.Josh Bellamy, WR - Bellamy has generally earned himself the distinction of being that inoffensive core special teamer and occasional receiver. However, he’s turned into a walking penalty and Sunday night was no different. He was flagged for an illegal shift and a chop block.Cody Parkey, K - Yes, he’s back on the down list for one missed kicked, but it was a clutch kick in crunch time that really would’ve put the game away for good. It’s more that fans aren’t able to just put the concerns about Parkey aside. Every time you think he’s turned the corner, something like this comes up again. If he lines up for a crunch time kick come January https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Mike-Ditka-Jersey , there will be a lot of tight rear ends in Chicago. CHICAGO (AP) — Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray had nowhere to go, all night long. The Minnesota Vikings got pushed around by the Chicago Bears in prime time.Minnesota managed just 22 yards on the ground while Jordan Howard powered an effective rushing attack for Chicago, sending the Vikings to a costly 25-20 loss on Sunday. The disparity on the ground led to a noticeable difference in time of possession, and Minnesota’s defense looked tired at times, especially in the first half.“The game just went a different way,” Cook said. “We just didn’t get it going. We ran the ball about 15 times. … You can’t find a rhythm. That’s just how it was today. We just couldn’t find a rhythm on offense.”The Vikings (5-4-1) went 13-3 last season and made it to the NFC Championship game before losing to Philadelphia. But they are going to need some help to take the NFC North again after Chicago (7-3) earned its fourth straight victory in the first meeting between the longtime rivals.Cook finished with 12 yards on nine carries, and Murray contributed 5 yards on four rushing attempts. It was the continuation of a season-long problem for the Vikings, who began the weekend ranked 28th in the NFL with an average of 91.7 yards rushing per game.It seemed as if Cook and Murray had to make a cut in the backfield every time they touched the ball. Left tackle Riley Reiff was beaten repeatedly by Khalil Mack, and center Pat Elflein struggled against Akiem Hicks in the middle.“I think it’s easy to throw blame on one group when there was a lot of things that happened in the course of that ballgame,” coach Mike Zimmer said. “Our offensive line is fighting their rear ends off, so I’m not going to place blame on them.”The problems began on Minnesota’s first possession. Murray was tackled by Hicks for a 1-yard loss on third-and-1, forcing the Vikings to punt.Minnesota drove inside the Chicago 20 on its next possession Richard Dent Color Rush Jersey , but Mack forced Cook to fumble and recovered the ball.“He made a play,” Cook said. “That’s what he’s been doing since he got there. He made a play at the line of scrimmage. He just stuck his hand out there.”While Minnesota’s lack of a rushing attack was nothing new, the Vikings had been able to stop their opponent from running the ball. But Chicago gained 148 yards on the ground for its highest total since it rushed for 179 in a victory over the New York Jets on Oct. 28, and the most allowed by Minnesota this season.Howard finished with 63 yards on 18 carries, and Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky helped neutralize the Vikings’ pass rush with 43 yards on the ground. Tarik Cohen almost equaled Minnesota’s total for the game when he gained 21 on one third-quarter rushing attempt.“In the first half we didn’t play great defensively,” Zimmer said. “We played a lot better in the second half. Most of it was missed tackles in the first half I thought.“We made enough mistakes tonight that didn’t allow us to win.”The absence of a rushing game put more pressure on Kirk Cousins, and he threw two costly interceptions. Eddie Jackson picked him off in the fourth quarter and returned it 36 yards for a key touchdown.“We didn’t establish the run game,” tight end Kyle Rudolph said. “When you play a defense as good as theirs and you don’t run the football and you become one-dimensional, it’s hard to have success.”
