TSN.ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Liverpool (Last Week-1) Philippe Coutinho took advantage of a Vincent Kompany mistake to score the winning goal for Liverpool as they defeated Manchester City 3-2.  Raheem Sterling and Martin Skrtel also scored for Liverpool who control their own destiny as they chase the Premier League title. 2. Chelsea (LW-3) Demba Ba struck in the 68th minute against 10 man Swansea City to lead Chelsea to a 1-0 victory.  The win keeps Chelsea firmly in Liverpools rear view mirror as they battle for the title. 3. Manchester City (LW-2) Manchester City dropped points in both games they played this week.  After falling 3-2 to Liverpool in an important title showdown, City needed a late goal to rescue a point in a midweek fixture against bottom of the table Sunderland. 4. Arsenal (LW-5) A Lukas Podolski double and a goal from Olivier Giroud did the damage for Arsenal as they defeated West Ham 3-1.  The win helped the Gunners move ahead of Everton in the race for the final Champions League position. 5. Everton (LW-4) Everton scored a 1-0 victory over Sunderland in their weekend fixture before dropping a critical two points in a 3-2 midweek loss to Crystal Palace.  Four points was not enough to keep them in a Champions League position. 6. Manchester United (LW-6) Manchester Uniteds game against Hull City was postponed due to Hulls participation in the FA Cup. 7. Tottenham (LW-7) Jonas Olsson own goal, plus goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen led Tottenham back from a 3-0 deficit to grab a 3-3 draw with West Brom.  The victory keeps Tottenhams hope of playing in Europe alive and well. 8. Southampton (LW-8) Southampton, safe in the middle of the table dropped a 1-0 result at home to Cardiff City. 9. Stoke City (LW-9) Erik Pieters scored the only goal of the game in the first half to lead Stoke City to a 1-0 victory over Newcastle.  Stoke has never finished in the top half of the Premier League but they currently reside there in the table. 10. Crystal Palace (LW-14) It was a huge six point week for Tony Pulis and Crystal Palace that should see them remain in the Premier League.  They knocked off Aston Villa 1-0 and then won a 3-2 midweek thriller against Everton. 11. Newcastle United (LW-10) Newcastle dropped their fourth consecutive Premier League contest, falling 1-0 to Stoke City.  Over the course of those games they have conceded 12 goals while not replying once. 12. Hull City (LW-11) Hull Citys game against Manchester United was postponed due to their participation in the FA Cup. 13. West Ham United (LW-12) Matthew Jarvis scored the only goal for West Ham as they fell 3-1 to Arsenal. 14. Swansea City (LW-13) Chico Flores picked up two yellow cards in 17 minutes and Swansea were never able to get back on top of the game as they fell 1-0 to Chelsea. 15. West Bromwich Albion (LW-16) After taking a 3-0 lead through Matej Vydra, Chris Brunt and Stephane Sessegnon just 31 minutes into the contest, West Brom was forced to settle for a 3-3 draw with Tottenham.  The equalizing marker came four minutes into second half stoppage time. 16. Aston Villa (LW-15) Three more dropped point for Aston Villa as they fell 1-0 at the hands of Crystal Palace.  Villa continues to slip closer to the relegation zone. 17. Fulham (LW-18) Hugo Rodallega scored a first half goal to lead Fulham to a 1-0 victory over Norwich City.  18. Sunderland (LW-19) It was one point from two games for Sunderland as they fell 1-0 to Everton before earning their single in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. 19. Cardiff City (LW-20) Calas 65th minute marker was the difference as Cardiff City defeated Southampton 1-0.  The victory provides three important points to the Welsh sides efforts to stay in the Premier League. 20. Norwich City (LW-17) Neil Adams fell in his first game in charge of Norwich City as they lost 1-0 to Fulham.  The Canaries dropped their seventh straight road contest and have to finish the season against Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Frank Ntilikina Jersey . The mixed zone is not a place to make friends. Kristaps Porzingis Jersey . The Detroit Tigers star had microfracture surgery Friday to repair the medial and lateral meniscus in his left knee. "I dont want to say it was a surprise," team president and general manager Dave Dombrowski said. http://www.officialknicksfanstore.com/kids-kevin-knox-knicks-jersey/.Brothers B.J. and Justin Upton each homered and had an outfield assist, and the Braves held on for a 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night. Patrick Ewing Jersey . The league announced Thursday that Tom Higgins is leaving that post effective immediately. Bernard King Jersey . "Ive got a lot of work to do on this team and the sooner that I can get back to my office and start that work, itll be better," he said straight-faced as the rest of the room erupted in laughter. NEW YORK -- John Ryan Murphy spent a while in the minors catching Dellin Betances, hoping they could someday contribute on a higher level. On Saturday, they teamed up in a major way. Murphy hit his first big league homer and drove in three runs, Betances earned his first win in the majors and the New York Yankees bounced back to beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 Saturday. "I dont think it can get any better," Murphy said. David Robertson posted his first save since coming off the disabled list. Mike Trout singled with one out and stole second, setting up a nervy ninth inning. Albert Pujols followed with a foul pop, and first baseman Mark Teixeira drifted near the stands. But when he reached into the seats trying to catch it, two Yankees fans reached up and deflected it away. "I understand it. People want baseballs," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Its not what you want to see at your home ballpark." But Robertson regrouped to retire Pujols on a routine fly and struck out Howie Kendrick to end it. A day after the Angels homered four times in a 13-1 romp, they started strong when Trout hit a solo shot on the seventh pitch of the afternoon. Murphy lined a two-out, two-run single in the second that gave the Yankees a 3-1 lead. The backup catcher homered on the first pitch in the fifth, tagging Hector Santiago (0-4) for a 4-3 lead. "We had reports on him," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "He did a good job on a changeup with guys on second and third early. It was up and he just stayed with it to right field. And he got a first-pitch fastball over the middle of the plate and he hit it out of the park. So, those are two mistakes." Murphy made his big league debut last season and began the day 6 for 36 with one RBI in his career. He played two weeks shy of his 23rd birthday while All-Star Brian McCann got a day off. "The more time youre out there, the easier it becomes," Murphy said. Last year, Murphy enjoyed a special moment, catching the final pitches of Mariano Riveras career. Called up this month when Francisco Cervelli was hurt, Murphy made his own memory on this day. "Hell never forget it," Girardi said. Especially because the ffan in left field who wound up with Murphys home-run ball gave it back to him.dddddddddddd Murphy said the souvenir was going to his mom. "Im so happy for him," Betances said. Betances said he hadnt yet tracked down any mementoes from the game. No problem, the 26-year-old righty left with something more memorable. "It was good to get the first win," he said. Betances (1-0) took over in the fifth for shaky starter Vidal Nuno and pitched two scoreless innings. The 6-foot-8 reliever struck out three, and has fanned 19 in 11 2-3 innings this season. "Happy for the kid, hes been through a lot," Girardi said. "Hes had to change roles, he had to fight to get here." Said Murphy: "When hes in the strike zone, hes unhittable." Reliever Shawn Kelley got Pujols in a key spot in the seventh and Matt Thornton got pinch-hitter Raul Ibanez on a lineout with two runners on to finish the eighth. Robertson got his third save. He was activated from the DL on Tuesday after being out because of a strained left groin. Both teams started a 26-year-old lefty, and each lasted only 4 1-3 innings. Nuno pitched in place of Ivan Nova, whos set for Tommy John surgery next week. Trout hit his sixth home run, sending a solo shot into the right-centre field seats. The New Jersey native got a cheer from his parents in the stands. The Yankees loaded the bases in the second, and a balk scored the tying run before Murphy singled. A clean, hard slide by Kendrick helped the Angels make it 3-all in the fourth. He knocked down Yankees second baseman Brian Roberts, whose throw on a potential double-play relay sailed into the dugout and let a run score. Chris Iannetta added a tying double. Yankees centre fielder Jacoby Ellsbury made a diving catch with runners at the corners to end the inning. NOTES: Yankees RHP Masahiro Tanaka (3-0, 2.15) starts against RHP Garrett Richards (2-0, 2.52) on Sunday night. ... Santiagos teams have lost the last nine times hes started. He pitched for the White Sox last year. ... Yankees LF Brett Gardner was hit in the left foot by a pitch from Ernesto Frieri in the eighth.
